It’s not every day one gets an interview with a notorious gang leader, and it’s also not every day where one comes out alive after meeting said gang leader.

Miss Calamity Ashe(Late 30s), the leader of the Deadlock Gang, infamous for their heists and other various criminal activities, agreed- complied, rather, to a sit-down interview, assuring no guns would be on her person.

A collected Texan-terror, she was, and no wonder; having been born into a high-class family, being a regular school delinquent, and fending for herself at a young age made her rely only on herself and her rather large omnic butler, B.O.B..

Disowned from her own family after being arrested on her graduation, she formed a pact with another fellow hotshot with a rather large redacted file.

It was this partnership with whom we know as one Jesse McCree that sparked an interest and sense of thrills from criminal acts that spurred Ashe into a life of organized crime, intertwining multiple gangs across the southwest into a singular group: the Deadlock Gang.

With her posse at one side and her butler on the other, Ashe carried dozens upon dozens of heists, robberies, and other heinous misdeeds out, leaving a trail of destruction and lead in her wake.

Standard protocols had us try and get an answer as to the reason behind the latest heist, an attack on a central server facility not too far from here. The fearless gang leader merely gave a shrug as she leaned back and kicked her legs up on the table, smug as can be.

Her eyes leered as she smiled with confidence.

Clearly, this investigation/interview didn’t bother her that much, as if this was a same song and dance to her.

Her face had changed slightly when we pulled out the… photos.

As if we had shown some sort of random trinket from a second-hand store. Before we could even ask, she raised a boot and set it rather firmly down on them.

“I know what yer thinkin’,” she said smoothly, “what’s a lady like me doin with pictures like those?”

She shrugged as she continued.

“Imagine my loving momma and daddy dearest’s faces when they see what their little girl gets into. Robberies, crime sprees… among other things.”

”So why the robot?”

We barely had time to quiet the mouth on one of our crewmen whispering to his partner, as the large hulking omnic bent down behind him and made him jump. It got a chuckle out of Calamity, at least, but probably scared the living daylights out of our worker.

“That’s one reason,” Ashe said with a smirk. “To keep mouths like your’s from sayin’ the wrong thing. Another reason is to keep people in line, like so…”

She looked at her butler and whistled, prompting to release the physical locks on his arm cannons. “That answer your question?” she asked. Everyone nodded as the big guy put his weapons away. Thankfully he didn’t shoot up the place…

We thought we had gotten through the non-literal minefield after having dodged that bullet, but then came the next question: what happened with the blackmail?

If looks could kill, the icy glare she gave could’ve been a mass danger as she watched someone fearfully place a file in front of her with various pictures. Of her. Modeling.

“I dunno where ya’ll got these,” she said with her voice slightly raised, “but you best hope… it ain’t one of you.”

We looked at one another, shaking our heads. “Hell if I know who knew about these,” she continued, before muttering to herself. “Wouldn’t have been him, he wouldn’t do that, he’s more upfront about things…”

We decided it was best not to pry into the mystery man she was mumbling about and got back on track with the investigation. We understood the motive of her attack on the facility, more or less, but we didn’t understand the method. Explosives? On a computerized information facility? Hacking and deleting would’ve done plenty of damage.

Why bomb it?

The first response we got was her icy stare, probably from thinking of who tipped off the blackmail, before she shrugged and folded her arms.

“We’re none of them fancypants Talon varmints,” she answered. “We got the firepower, we make ourselves known. Quiet business ain’t really our style.” She lazily peered over to her butler, before adding, “Mostly.”

It was easy to say that judging from how the omnic began eyeballing every person in the room that it was time to wrap this investigation up. But not before we had one last question. What was her plan after this? After getting out? Is reforming an option? Perhaps even a shot back into modeling? The Calamity merely smiled, chuckling to herself before replying with a sneer.

”Well now that ya mention it,” she said, “I’ll… maybe… look into it. After I find the one who leaked those little fleshy snapshots, course, and make them regret crossing me.”

She looked to us and smiled once more.

”Ya’ll had best hope it ain’t one of you~”
